The Chemical Brothers – European Tour 2023

The Chemical Brothers will perform on Sunday, July 23, 2023, starting with 9.30 pm, in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, as part of the Lucca Summer Festival 2023.

Besides the concert in Lucca, the band will also appear on stage in Romano d’Ezzelino, on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo formed in Manchester in 1989, by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons.

The duo released their debut album, Exit Planet Dust, in 1995. They achieved widespread success with their second album, Dig Your Own Hole, which topped the UK charts in 1997.

Surrender was released in 1999, Come with Us in 2002, Push the Button in 2005, We Are the Night in 2007, Further in 2010, and Born in the Echoes in 2015.

The band’s ninth studio album, No Geography, was released on April 12, 2019, to critical acclaim. Over time, they had six number one albums and 13 top 20 singles in the UK.

LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL

The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival was held in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker performed on stage.

Over time, important names performed at the festival, such as David Bowie, James Brown, Mark Knopfler, Jamiroquai, Seal, Zucchero, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Anastacia, Giorgia, Green Day, Ennio Morricone and The Rolling Stones.

As usual, the Lucca Summer Festival 2023 will take place during the month of July, in Lucca. So far, besides The Chemical Brothers, the participation of KISS, Simply Red, Blur and OneRepublic was confirmed.

THE VENUE

Piazza Napoleone is the main square of Lucca, and one of the venues where, every year in the summer, is held one of the most important music festivals in Italy, the Lucca Summer Festival.

Piazza Napoleone is located inside the city walls of Lucca, about 650 meters away from the Lucca railway station. The closest bus stop is Napoleone, located in the northwestern corner of the square, on the bus Lines 5, LAM Blu and LAM Verde.
