HISTORY OF BOGLIASCO:

After the year 1000, the Genoese city-state was established, and Bogliasco became part of it. In the 12th century, the village was included in the Republic of Genoa. The first document attesting the presence of the local parish church in Bogliasco, dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dates back to 1182.
In 1432, in the war between the Genoese Republic and the Republic of Venice, a group of Venetian galleys landed in Bogliasco, where they caused destruction.
In 1797, with the new French domination of Napoleon Bonaparte, the village became part of the Ligurian Republic. Between 1805 and 1814, it was annexed to the First French Empire and included in the Department of Genoa.
After the fall of Napoleon and the Congress of Vienna of 1814, Bogliasco was included, along the entire Liguria, in the Kingdom of Sardinia. Starting with 1861, the village became an integral part of the newly established Kingdom of Italy.

Bogliasco is located 9 kilometers northwest of Camogli, 11 kilometers southeast of Genoa, 17 kilometers northwest of Rapallo, 24 kilometers northwest of Portofino, 36 kilometers northwest of Sestri Levante, 85 kilometers northwest of Monterosso al Mare, the northernmost village of the Cinque Terre National Park, 92 kilometers northwest of La Spezia, 94 kilometers northwest of Riomaggiore, 160 kilometers northwest of Pisa, and about the same distance south of Milan, 170 kilometers southeast of Turin, 230 kilometers northwest of Florence, and about 245 kilometers west of Bologna.
