This annual event, typically held on the second Sunday of May, has become a cornerstone of Camogli’s cultural identity, attracting visitors from near and far to partake in its rich maritime heritage and culinary delights. SHORT HISTORY OF SAGRA DEL PESCE Sagra del Pesce was held for the first time in 1952, to celebrate the patron saint of fishermen, San Fortunato. Back then, the local artist and sculptor, Giorgio “Getto” Viarengo, sought to honor the town’s fishing traditions and promote community spirit. Viarengo’s vision was to create a festival that celebrated the sea’s bounty, bringing together residents and visitors in a shared appreciation of Camogli’s maritime culture.
