OneRepublic will perform on Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, as part of the Lucca Summer Festival 2023.
Besides the concert in Lucca, the band will also appear on stage in Rome on July 11, for the Roma Summer Fest 2023, in Naples on July 12, and in Mantua on July 14.
THE BAND
OneRepublic was founded in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2002. The band’s current lineup consists of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Tedder, lead guitarist and violist Zach Filkins, rhythm guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, drummer Eddie Fisher, and keyboardist and violinist Brian Willett.
Their debut studio album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released in 2007. Its lead single, Apologize, remixed by Timbaland, became a huge international success, reaching number one in sixteen countries. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
The band’s second album, Waking Up, was released in 2009. Their third album, Native, was released in 2013, and it became the band’s first top ten album on the Billboard 200, and the highest-charting album to date.
On October 7, 2016, OneRepublic released their fourth studio album, Oh My My, which featured a number of collaborators, including Cassius, Peter Gabriel, and Santigold. Their fifth studio album, Human, was released in 2021.
Besides these five studio albums, OneRepublic also released one live album, six extended plays, 32 singles, 10 promotional singles, and 28 music videos. Over time, the band sold approximately 16 million records worldwide.
THE FESTIVAL
The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival was held in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker performed on stage.
Over time, important names attended the festival, such as David Bowie, James Brown, Mark Knopfler, Jamiroquai, Seal, Zucchero, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Anastacia, Giorgia, Green Day, Ennio Morricone and The Rolling Stones.
THE VENUE
Piazza Napoleone is the main square of Lucca, and one of the venues where, every year in the summer, is held one of the most important music festivals in Italy, the Lucca Summer Festival.
Piazza Napoleone is located inside the city walls of Lucca, about 650 meters away from the Lucca railway station. The closest bus stop is Napoleone, located in the northwestern corner of the square, on the bus Lines 5, LAM Blu and LAM Verde.
