Bob Dylan – Rough and Rowdy Ways World Wide Tour 2023

Bob Dylan will perform on Thursday, July 6, 2023, starting with 9.30 pm, in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, as part of the Lucca Summer Festival 2023.

In 2023, besides the concert in Lucca, Bob Dylan will also appear on stage in Milan, on July 3 and 4, in Perugia, on July 7, for the Umbria Jazz Festival 2023, and in Rome, on July 9, for the Roma Summer Fest 2023.

BOB DYLAN

Bob Dylan released his self-titled debut album in 1962, which comprised mainly traditional folk songs.

He made his breakthrough as a songwriter with the release of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan the following year. The album featured Blowin’ in the Wind and A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall.

He released The Times They Are a-Changin’ and Another Side of Bob Dylan in 1964.

In 1965 and 1966, Dylan recorded three of the most important and influential rock albums of the 1960s – Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dylan explored country music in John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline and New Morning.

In 1975, he released Blood on the Tracks. In the late 1970s, he became a born-again Christian and released a series of albums of contemporary gospel music before returning to his more familiar rock sound in the early 1980s.

His album Time Out of Mind, released in 1997, marked the beginning of a renaissance for his career.

Bob Dylan released five critically acclaimed albums of original material since then, the most recent being Rough and Rowdy Ways, appeared in 2020.

LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL

The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival was held in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker performed on stage.

Over time, important names attended the festival, such as David Bowie, James Brown, Mark Knopfler, Jamiroquai, Seal, Zucchero, Ray Charles, Elton John, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Anastacia, Giorgia, Green Day, Ennio Morricone, The Rolling Stones, Sting, Scorpions, Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Buena Vista Social Club, Joan Baez, Natalie Cole, Youssou N’Dour, and Eagles.

As usual, the Lucca Summer Festival 2023 will take place during the month of July, in Lucca.

So far, besides Bob Dylan, on the stage of the festival will also perform KISS, Simply Red, Blur, OneRepublic, The Chemical Brothers, and Robbie Williams.

THE VENUE

Piazza Napoleone is the main square of Lucca, and one of the venues where, every year in the summer, is held one of the most important music festivals in Italy, the Lucca Summer Festival.

Piazza Napoleone is located inside the city walls of Lucca, about 650 meters away from the Lucca railway station.

The closest bus stop is Napoleone, located in the northwestern corner of the square, on the bus Lines 5, LAM Blu and LAM Verde.
