The English band The Cure will play on Sunday, June 16, at the Visarno Arena, in the Parco delle Cascine, in Florence, as part of the Firenze Rocks Festival 2019.
The Cure are a rock band formed in Crawley, West Sussex, in 1976. Their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys, was released in 1979. Between 1980 and 2008, the band released another 12 studio albums: Seventeen Seconds (1980), Faith (1981), Pornography (1982), The Top (1984), The Head on the Door (1985), Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (1987), Disintegration (1989), Wish (1992), Wild Mood Swings (1996), Bloodflowers (2000), The Cure (2004) and 4:13 Dream (2008).
During the years, songs such as Let’s Go to Bed (1982), Just Like Heaven (1987), Lovesong (1989) and Friday I’m in Love (1992) aided the band in receiving commercial popularity. To date, the band sold around 27 million records and released thirteen studio albums, ten EPs and over thirty singles.
With The Cure, Firenze Rocks 2019 unveils its first headliner and warms the engines for what will be an edition full of surprises and novelties, which will make all lovers of rock music happy.
From 13 to 16 June 2019, at the Visarno Arena, in Florence, the festival, now in its third edition, is preparing to repeat the success of previous years, when it brought on stage stars like Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden and System of A Down. The other name announced for the third edition of the festival is Ed Sheeran, who will play on June 14, 2019, at the same Visarno Arena.
Visarno Arena is located in the Cascine Park, in Florence. Surrounded by nature, the area is a perfect summer venue for concerts, festivals and other kind of events.
The arena is reachable on foot or by public transport from the center of Florence. The closest bus station is Shelley, about 150 meters away, on the bus Line 55, but you can also use the bus 17, getting off at Cascine 02, a station located about 300 meters away from the Visarno Arena.
