Maroon 5 will perform on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Visarno Arena, in Parco delle Cascine, in Florence, as part of Firenze Rocks 2023.
MAROON 5
Maroon 5 was formed as Kara’s Flowers in 1994, in Los Angeles, California, and it currently consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton and multi-instrumentalist and bassist Sam Farrar.
Under the name of Kara’s Flowers, the band released the album We Like Digging? in 1995, The Fourth World in 1997, and Stagg Street Recordings in 1999.
In 2001, the band re-emerged as Maroon 5, pursuing a different direction, and released their debut album, Songs About Jane, in June 2002.
The band’s second album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, was released in May 2007. In 2010, Maroon 5 released their third album, Hands All Over, to favorable reviews.
In 2012, the band released their fourth album, Overexposed, their fifth album, V, in 2014, and their sixth studio album, Red Pill Blues, in November 2017. The band’s seventh album, Jordi, was released in June 2021.
To date, Maroon 5 sold more than 135 million albums, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
FIRENZE ROCKS
The first edition of Firenze Rocks took place in 2017, when Placebo, Aerosmith and System of a Down appeared on the stage of the music festival.
In 2018, in front of over 210,000 spectators, The Kills, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne performed at the festival.
In 2019, the most important artists who appeared on stage were Ed Sheeran, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Dream Theater and Eddie Vedder.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition of the festival was first postponed to 2021, and then to 2022.
THE VENUE
Visarno Arena is an outdoor arena located within the Visarno Hippodrome, in the Cascine Park, in Florence. In the middle of nature, the area is a perfect summer venue for concerts, festivals and other kind of events.
The arena is located about 2.5 kilometers away from the Santa Maria Novella railway station, and can be easily reached by public transport from the center of Florence.
The closest bus stop is Shelley, located about 150 meters away, on the bus Line 55, but you can also use the bus Line 17, getting off at Cascine 02, a bus stop located about 300 meters away from the Visarno Arena.
The closest tram stop is Cascine, located about 600 meters away, on the tram Lines T1.3 and T2.
