    Bob Dylan will perform on Sunday, July 9, 2023, starting with 7.30 pm, at the Auditorum Parco della Musica, in Sala Santa Cecilia, in Rome, as part of the Roma Summer Fest 2023.

    In 2023, besides the concert in Rome, Bob Dylan will also appear on stage in Milan, on July 3 and 4, in Lucca, on July 6, for the Lucca Summer Festival 2023, and in Perugia, on July 7, for the Umbria Jazz Festival 2023.

    Bob Dylan - RomeBob Dylan released his self-titled debut album in 1962, which comprised mainly traditional folk songs.

    He made his breakthrough as a songwriter with the release of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan the following year. The album featured Blowin’ in the Wind and A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall.

    He released The Times They Are a-Changin’ and Another Side of Bob Dylan in 1964.

    In 1965 and 1966, Dylan recorded three of the most important and influential rock albums of the 1960s – Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde.

    In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dylan explored country music in John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline and New Morning.

    In 1975, he released Blood on the Tracks. In the late 1970s, he became a born-again Christian and released a series of albums of contemporary gospel music before returning to his more familiar rock sound in the early 1980s.

    His album Time Out of Mind, released in 1997, marked the beginning of a renaissance for his career.

    Bob Dylan released five critically acclaimed albums of original material since then, the most recent being Rough and Rowdy Ways, appeared in 2020.

     

    ROMA SUMMER FEST

    Roma Summer Fest is a summer music festival produced by the Musica per Roma Foundation in a unique venue – Auditorium Parco della Musica.

    Many important Italian and international artists performed at the previous editions of the festival, such as Elton John, Sting, Bjork, Leonard Cohen, Paolo Conte, José Carreras, Patti Smith, Arctic Monkeys, Simple Minds, Ringo Starr, Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand, Steven Tyler, Sting and Shaggy.

    Besides Bob Dylan, other names confirmed so far for the 2023 edition of the music festival are Yusuf Cat Stevens, Sting, OneRepublic, Pet Shop Boys, Mariza and The Lumineers.

     

    THE VENUE OF THE ROMA SUMMER FEST 2023

    Auditorum Parco della Musica is located in Largo Luciano Berio, in the northwestern part of Rome.

    Designed by Renzo Piano and completed on December 21, 2002, Auditorum Parco della Musica represents a complex of halls dedicated to music, in particular, and to art, in general.

    Sala Santa Cecilia, part of Auditorum Parco della Musica, is a large concert hall which can accommodate up to 2,800 spectators.

    The closest bus stop is De Coubertin/Auditorium, located about 110 meters away, on the bus Lines 53, 168, 910 and 982.

    The closest tram stop is Apollodoro, located about 300 meters away in Piazza Apollodoro, on the tram Line 2.
