    Rome Marathon 2019

    Date: 7 April 2019

Time: 12:00 am to 12:00 am

Rome Marathon (Maratona di Roma) is a sporting event held every year in Rome since 1982. The first edition of the marathon, in its current form, took place in 1995. Rome Marathon is considered the most attended sporting event in Italy, due to the large number of athletes participating in it. For the most part, the route is flat, and crosses the historical center of the city, along the Lungotevere (Tiber Waterfront), reaching the Rome Mosque to the north and the Basilica of St. Paul to the south. The departure of the race is in Via dei Fori Imperiali. Every 5 kilometers, there are refreshment points and race judges. After the 40 km refreshment point, the participants will encounter the most difficult climb of the track, along the wide curve that embraces the Colosseum, which again leads to Via dei Fori Imperiali and the finish line.   ROME MARATHON 2019, the 25th edition, will take place on Sunday, April 7. On this occasion, there will be also a 4-km non-competitive race, the Fun Run, open to everyone who loves to run.
