    The nu metal band Korn will perform on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the AREA EXPO Experience, in Milan. On June 12, they will share the stage with the American band System of a Down, as part of the I-Days Festival 2020.

     

    THE BAND

    Korn was formed in Bakersfield, California, in 1993. The band’s current lineup features James “Munky” Shaffer (rhythm guitar), Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu (bass), Brian “Head” Welch (lead guitar), Jonathan Davis (lead vocals and bagpipes) and Ray Luzier (drums).

    The band’s debut album, Korn, was released in 1994, followed by Life Is Peachy in 1996. The band experienced mainstream success with Follow the Leader, released in 1998, and Issues, released one year later. In 2002, Untouchables was released, followed by Take a Look in the Mirror in 2003 and See You on the Other Side in 2005.

    Their other albums are Korn III: Remember Who You Are, released in 2010, The Path of Totality in 2011, The Paradigm Shift in 2013, The Serenity of Suffering in 2016, and The Nothing in 2019.

    As of today, Korn released seven video albums and 39 music videos. The band received two Grammy Awards out of eight nominations and two MTV Video Music Awards out of eleven nominations.

     

    THE FESTIVAL

    The I-Days Festival, formerly known as the Independent Days Festival, was born in 1999, in Bologna. The 2009 and 2018 editions were held in Milan and the 2016 edition took place in Monza.

    Over time, many important bands and artists performed on the stage of the festival, such as Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Muse, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Deep Purple, Arcade Fire, Green Day, Radiohead, Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, The Killers, Placebo and Liam Gallagher.

    In 2020, the festival will take place in the months of June and July, in Milan. Besides Korn, the 2020 edition of the festival will feature performances from System of a Down, Vasco Rossi, Billie Eilish and Finneas.

     

    THE VENUE

    AREA EXPO Experience is a park built in the area of Expo 2015, in Milan, which usually hosts sports events, cultural manifestations and concerts.

    The closest Metro stop is Rho Fiera Milano, on the Metro Line M1, located about 650 meters away. The closest bus station is Casa di Reclusione, about 200 meters away, on the bus Line 542.
