System of a Down – Europe Tour 2020

The heavy-metal band System of a Down will perform on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the AREA EXPO Experience, in Milan. On June 12, they will share the stage with the American band Korn, as part of the I-Days Festival 2020.

THE BAND

System of a Down was formed in Glendale, California, in 1994. The band currently consists of Serj Tankian (lead vocals and keyboards), Daron Malakian (vocals and guitar), Shavo Odadjian (bass) and John Dolmayan (drums).

System of a Down achieved commercial success with the release of five studio albums between 1998 and 2005. The band went on hiatus in 2006 and reunited in 2010. Since then, they performed live occasionally, without releasing any new material since 2005.

Over time, System of a Down sold over 40 million records worldwide. The band was nominated for four Grammy Awards, and their song B.Y.O.B. won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2006.

THE FESTIVAL

The I-Days Festival, formerly known as the Independent Days Festival, was born in 1999, in Bologna. The 2009 and 2018 editions were held in Milan and the 2016 edition took place in Monza.

Over time, many important bands and artists performed on the stage of the festival, among which we can mention Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Muse, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Deep Purple, Arcade Fire, Green Day, Radiohead, Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, The Killers, Placebo and Liam Gallagher.

In 2020, the festival will take place in the months of June and July, in Milan. Besides System of a Down, the 2020 edition of the festival will feature performances from Korn, Vasco Rossi, Billie Eilish and Finneas.

THE VENUE

AREA EXPO Experience is a park built in the area of Expo 2015, in Milan, which hosts sports events, cultural manifestations and concerts.

The closest Metro stop is Rho Fiera Milano, on the Metro Line M1, located about 650 meters away. The closest bus station is Casa di Reclusione, about 200 meters away, on the bus Line 542.
