    The British singer Michael Kiwanuka will perform on Saturday, July 16, 2022, starting with 9.00 pm, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, in the Cavea amphitheater, in Rome. The concert is part of the Roma Summer Fest 2022.

    The concert, initially planned for July 23, 2020, was postponed first to July 16, 2021, and then to July 16, 2022.

    Besides the concert in Rome, Michael Kiwanuka will also appear on stage in Gardone Riviera, on July 14, 2022, and in Fiesole, near Florence, on July 15, 2022.

     

    THE ARTIST

    Michael Samuel Kiwanuka released his debut album, Home Again, in 2012, to positive reviews from critics. His second album, Love & Hate, released in 2016, was a critical and commercial success, reaching number 1 on the UK albums chart. His third album, Kiwanuka, was released in 2019.

    To date, Michael Kiwanuka was nominated for numerous honours, including the Brit Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Mercury Prize and BBC Music Awards.

     

    THE FESTIVAL

    Roma Summer Fest is a music festival produced by the Musica per Roma Foundation in a unique venue – the Auditorium Parco della Musica, designed by the great architect Renzo Piano.

    Among the artists who performed at the previous editions of the festival, we can mention Elton John, Sting, Bjork, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Paolo Conte, José Carreras, Patti Smith, Arctic Monkeys, Simple Minds, Ringo Starr, Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand, Steven Tyler, Sting and Shaggy.

    The lineup for the 2022 edition of the festival includes names like Lorde, Skunk Anansie, Deep Purple, Simple Minds and LP.

     

    THE VENUE

    Auditorium Parco della Musica, designed by Renzo Piano and completed on December 21, 2002, represents a complex of halls dedicated to music, in particular, and to art, in general. The Cavea is an open-air amphitheater in the heart of the Auditorium, which can accommodate up to 3,000 spectators.

    Auditorum Parco della Musica is located in Largo Luciano Berio, in the northwest of Rome. The closest bus stop is De Coubertin/Auditorium, located about 110 meters away, on the bus Lines 53, 168, 910 and 982.
