    The British rock band Skunk Anansie will perform on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica – Cavea, in Rome, as part of the Rock in Roma Festival 2022.

    The current lineup of Skunk Anansie is composed of Skin (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Cass Lewis (bass, guitar, backing vocals), Martin Ace Kent (guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Richardson (drums and percussion).

    The band was formed in 1994, disbanded in 2001, and reformed in 2009. The name of the band is taken from West African folk tales of Anansi the spider-man of Ghana, with Skunk added just to make the name nastier.

    Skunk Anansie released six studio albums: Paranoid & Sunburnt in 1995, Stoosh in 1996, Post Orgasmic Chill in 1999, Wonderlustre in 2010, Black Traffic in 2012, and Anarchytecture in 2016. Their discography also contains one compilation album, Smashes and Trashes, released in 2009, and several hit singles, including Charity, Hedonism, Selling Jesus and Weak. To date, the band sold more than 4 million albums worldwide.



    Rock in Roma is a music festival that takes place every year in Rome, since 2002. Until its 2008 edition, the event was known as the Romarock Festival. The festival usually has a various lineup, which allows the meeting of different cultures and musical genres.

    The 2020 edition was postponed first to 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then to 2022.



    Auditorium Parco della Musica, designed by Renzo Piano and completed on December 21, 2002, represents a complex of halls dedicated to music, in particular, and to art, in general. The Cavea is an open-air amphitheater in the heart of the Auditorium, which can accommodate up to 3,000 spectators.

    Auditorum Parco della Musica is located in Largo Luciano Berio, in the northwest of Rome. The closest bus stop is De Coubertin/Auditorium, located about 110 meters away, on the bus Lines 53, 168, 910 and 982.
