Cigarettes After Sex – Summer Tour 2022

The American band Cigarettes After Sex will perform on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, starting with 9:45 pm, at the Capannelle Racecourse, in Rome, as part of the Rock in Roma 2022.

THE BAND

Cigarettes After Sex was founded in El Paso, Texas, in 2008, by Greg Gonzalez. The current lineup of the band features Greg Gonzalez (lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar), Randall Miller (bass), Jacob Tomsky (drums), and Josh Marcus (keyboards).

The band’s debut EP, entitled I., was released in 2012. The EP included the song Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby, which eventually became a hit. After the release of the single Affection in 2015, Cigarettes After Sex released their self-titled debut studio album in June 2017.

In August 2019, Cigarettes After Sex announced their second studio album, entitled Cry, along with the single Heavenly. The album was released on October 25, 2019.

THE FESTIVAL

Rock in Roma is a music festival that takes place every year in Rome, since 2002. Until its 2008 edition, the event was known as the Romarock Festival. The festival usually has a various lineup, which allows the meeting of different cultures and musical genres.

The 2020 edition was postponed first to 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then to 2022. Besides Cigarettes After Sex, the lineup of the Rock in Roma Festival 2022 includes names like Skunk Anansie, Deep Purple and The Chemical Brothers.

THE VENUE

Capannelle Racecourse (Ippodromo delle Capannelle) is a horse racing venue in Rome. The racecourse is the home of the Rock in Roma festival since 2009.

You can reach the venue by train, getting off at the Capannelle railway station, located about 900 meters away. The closest bus stop is Capannelle/Appia Nuova, a few meters away from the entrance to the racecourse, on the bus Lines 118, 520, 654, 664, 789 and C11.
