    The American heavy metal band Metallica will perform on Sunday, June 19, 2022, in Florence, at the Visarno Arena, in Parco delle Cascine. The concert is part of the rock festival Firenze Rocks 2022.

    Metallica was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, by the drummer Lars Ulrich and vocalist James Hetfield. The band’s current lineup consists of the founding members Hetfield and Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassist Robert Trujillo.

    The band released Kill ‘Em All in 1983, and the following year Ride the Lightning. In 1986, the band released its third studio album, Master of Puppets, which was Metallica’s first album to be certified gold by the RIAA.

    Their fourth album, …And Justice for All, was released in 1988, and their fifth, self-titled album, known as The Black Album, was released in 1991. Metallica released Load in 1996, and Reload in 1997. St. Anger was released in 2003, and their ninth studio album, Death Magnetic, in 2008. The band released their tenth studio album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, in 2016.

    To date, Metallica released ten studio albums, eight live albums, three extended plays, 43 singles, ten video albums, 42 music videos, one soundtrack album, one collaboration album and three box sets.



    Firenze Rocks is a music festival which takes place every year since 2017, in Florence. The first edition of Firenze Rocks brought on stage names like Placebo, Aerosmith and System of a Down.

    In 2018, The Kills, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne performed on stage. The lineup of the 2019 edition of the festival included names like Ed Sheeran, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Dream Theater and Eddie Vedder.

    Firenze Rocks 2022 will take place between 16 and 19 of June, at the Visarno Arena, in Florence.



    Visarno Arena is an outdoor arena located in the Cascine Park, in Florence. Surrounded by nature, the area is a perfect summer venue for concerts, music festivals and other kind of events.

    The arena can be reached by public transport from the center of Florence. The closest bus stop is Shelley, about 150 meters away, on the bus Line 55, but you can also use the bus 17, getting off at Cascine 02, a bus stop located about 300 meters away from the Visarno Arena.
