The American band Cigarettes After Sex will perform on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at the Capannelle Racecourse, in Rome, as part of the Rock in Roma 2020.
THE BAND
Cigarettes After Sex was formed in 2008, in El Paso, Texas, by Greg Gonzalez. The current lineup includes Randall Miller (bass), Jacob Tomsky (drums) and Josh Marcus (keyboards).
The band’s debut EP, I., was released in 2012, featuring the song Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby. After the release of the standalone single Affection in 2015, the band released their self-titled debut album in June 2017, to positive reviews.
In October 2019, Cigarettes After Sex released their second studio album, titled Cry, along with the single Heavenly.
THE FESTIVAL
Rock in Roma is a music festival that takes place every year in Rome, since 2002. Until its 2008 edition, the event was known as the Romarock Festival.
Usually, the festival has a various lineup, which allows the meeting of different cultures and musical genres.
THE VENUE
Capannelle Racecourse (Ippodromo delle Capannelle) is a horse racing venue in Rome. The racecourse is the home of the Rock in Roma festival since 2009.
You can reach the racetrack by train, getting off at the Capannelle railway station, located about 900 meters away. The closest bus stop is Capannelle/Appia Nuova, a few meters away from the entrance to the racecourse, on the bus Lines 118, 520, 654, 664, 789 and C11.
