Weezer – Hella Mega Tour 2022

Weezer will perform on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, starting with 6.00 pm, at the San Siro Racetrack, in Milan, as part of the Milano Summer Festival 2022. The concert is included in the European leg of the Hella Mega Tour 2022, in which Weezer is accompanied by Green Day and Fall Out Boy.

THE BAND

Weezer was formed in 1992, in Los Angeles. The band consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar and keyboards), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, keyboards) and Scott Shriner (bass).

In 1994, Weezer released their self-titled debut album, also known as the Blue Album. Their second album, Pinkerton, released in 1996, was a commercial failure, but achieved cult status and critical acclaim later.

In 2001, Weezer returned with another self-titled album, also known as the Green Album. Their fourth album, Maladroit, was released in 2002, and their fifth album, Make Believe, in 2005.

In 2008, Weezer released a third self-titled album, also known as the Red Album. Raditude was released in 2009 and Hurley in 2010. The band’s ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, appeared in 2014 and their fourth self-titled album, also known as the White Album, in 2016. Their eleventh album, Pacific Daydream, was released in 2017.

The band released a fifth self-titled album in January 2019, known as the Teal Album, which features only cover songs. Their sixth self-titled album, the Black Album, was released in March 2019.

Their discography consists of 15 studio albums, 2 compilation albums, 1 video album, 6 extended plays, 37 singles and 40 music videos.

THE FESTIVAL

Milano Summer Festival brings to Milan some of the best-known artists of different music genres, spanning from rock to electronic dance music, jazz, blues, and much more.

Of the artists who performed in the past editions of the festival, we can mention Marilyn Manson, Carlos Santana, Martin Garrix, Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains, The Chemical Brothers, Alanis Morissette, Robert Plant, Metallica and KISS.

THE VENUE

The San Siro Racetrack dates back to the 1920s, was renovated in 1975, and it can be considered a monument of national interest. The area, dedicated to live concerts and equestrian sport, is located on the outskirts of Milan, in Piazzale dello Sport.

The closest Metro Station is San Siro Ippodromo, on the Metro Line M5, about 650 meters away or about 8 minutes on foot from the San Siro Racetrack.
