The English rock band Deep Purple will perform on Monday, October 17, 2022, starting with 8.00 pm, at the Mediolanum Forum, in Assago, near Milan. The concert is part of their Whoosh! Tour, started in 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the concert, initially scheduled for October 19, 2020, was postponed first to October 19, 2021, and then to October 17, 2022. Tickets already purchased remain valid for the new date.

Besides the concert in Milan, Deep Purple will also appear on stage in Rome, on July 2, 2022, at the Rock in Roma Festival 2022, and in Bologna, on July 3, 2022, at the Bologna Sonic Park 2022.
THE BAND
Deep Purple, founded in Hertford in 1968, is considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. Originally formed as a psychedelic rock and progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in the 1970s.
The current lineup of the band features Ian Paice (drums), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Gillan (vocals, harmonica, percussion), Steve Morse (guitars), and Don Airey (keyboards).
The discography of Deep Purple consists of 21 studio albums, 45 live albums, 28 compilation albums, 3 extended plays, and 54 singles. Their last album, Whoosh!, was released on August 7, 2020.
To date, Deep Purple sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide. The band received the Legend Award at the 2008 World Music Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
THE VENUE
The Mediolanum Forum is an indoor sports arena located about 8 kilometers from the center of Milan, in Assago. The venue has a seating capacity of 12,700 and is used primarily for sporting events and concerts.
The Mediolanum Forum is located about 450 meters away from the Assago Milanofiori Forum Metro station, which can be reached with the Metro Line M2.
