    The American nu metal band Korn will perform on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, starting with 8:30 pm, at the San Siro Racetrack, in Milan, as part of the Milano Summer Festival 2022.

    THE BAND

    Korn was formed in 1993, in Bakersfield, California. The band is notable for pioneering the nu metal genre and bringing it into the mainstream.

    The band’s current lineup features James Munky Shaffer (rhythm guitar), Reginald Fieldy Arvizu (bass), Brian Head Welch (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jonathan Davis (lead vocals, bagpipes), and Ray Luzier (drums).

    Their debut album, Korn, was released in 1994, followed by Life Is Peachy in 1996. The band experienced mainstream success with Follow the Leader in 1998, and Issues in 1999. Untouchables was released in 2002, Take a Look in the Mirror in 2003, and See You on the Other Side in 2005.

    Next, they released an untitled album in 2007, Korn III: Remember Who You Are in 2010, The Path of Totality in 2011, The Paradigm Shift in 2013, and The Serenity of Suffering in 2016. Their latest album, The Nothing, was released on September 13, 2019.

    To date, Korn sold more than 40 million records worldwide. The band also released seven video albums, 39 music videos, and 41 singles, 28 of which have charted. Korn received two Grammy Awards out of eight nominations and two MTV Video Music Awards out of eleven nominations.

     

    THE FESTIVAL

    Milano Summer Festival brings to Milan some of the best-known artists of different music genres, spanning from rock to electronic dance music, jazz, blues, heavy metal and more.

    Of the artists who performed to the previous editions of the festival, we can mention Marilyn Manson, Carlos Santana, Martin Garrix, Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains, The Chemical Brothers, Alanis Morissette, Robert Plant, Metallica, KISS, Calcutta and Ben Harper.

    Both Milano Summer Festival 2020 and 2021 were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

     

    THE VENUE

    The San Siro Racetrack (Ippodromo Snai – San Siro) dates back to the 1920s, and was renovated in 1975. The area, dedicated to live concerts and equestrian sport, is located on the outskirts of Milan, in Piazzale dello Sport.

    The closest Metro Station is San Siro Ippodromo, on the Metro Line M5, about 650 meters away, or about 8 minutes on foot from the San Siro Racetrack.
