    The English singer Sting will perform in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, on Monday, July 29, 2019, starting with 9.30 pm, at the Lucca Summer Festival 2019, as part of his My Songs tour.



    Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as Sting, was the lead singer of the band The Police between 1977 and 1984, and a solo performer since 1985.

    Over time, he received 16 Grammy Awards, both for his activity in The Police and as a solo artist, 3 Brit Awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy and four nominations for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. With and without The Police, Sting sold over 100 million records to date.



    Lucca Summer Festival is a music festival held during the month of July, since 1998, in Lucca. The concerts are held within the historic walls of Lucca, in Piazza Napoleone, Piazza San Martino, Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, or outside the historical center of the city, at the Porta Elisa soccer stadium, in Lucca, or at the Pini stadium, in Viareggio.

    The 2019 edition of the festival will start on June 28, with the concert of the British group Take That, followed by the performances of Toto, on July 5, Elton John, on July 7, and Mark Knopfler, on July 13.
