    The English singer Paul McCartney will perform on Saturday, June 13, 2020, in the former Campo Balilla, alongside the City Walls of Lucca. The concert is part of the Lucca Summer Festival 2020.   THE ARTIST Paul McCartney gained worldwide fame as the vocalist and bassist for the Beatles. After the group disbanded in 1970, he pursued a successful solo career and formed the band Wings with his first wife, Linda, and Denny Laine. In 1970, McCartney debuted as a solo artist with the album McCartney. Throughout the 1970s, he led Wings, one of the most successful bands of the decade, with more than a dozen international top 10 singles and albums. Since 1989, he toured as a solo artist, and in 1993, he formed the music duo the Fireman with Martin Glover from the Killing Joke. Paul McCartney is one of the most successful composers and performers of all time. He has written or co-written 32 songs that have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.     Lucca Summer Festival 2020

    Lucca Summer Festival 2020, the 23rd edition of one of the most important music festivals in Italy, will take place during the month of July, in Lucca.   THE FESTIVAL The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival took place in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker performed on stage. Over time, important names attended the festival, among which we can mention David Bowie, James Brown, Mark Knopfler, Jamiroquai, Seal, Zucchero, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Anastacia, Giorgia, Green Day, Ennio Morricone and The Rolling Stones. On 5 July 2009, the Dave Matthews Band held a concert of over three and a half hours, the longest performance of their career. On 23 September 2017, it was held the historic Rolling Stones concert, the only Italian date of the No Filter European tour, which established the attendance record for this event, of about 55,000 people.     The British singer Yusuf Cat Stevens will perform on Saturday, July 18, 2020, in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, as part of the Lucca Summer Festival 2020.   THE ARTIST Steven Demetre Georgiou, known by his stage name Cat Stevens, and later Yusuf, debuted in 1967 with the album Matthew and Son. With his fourth and fifth albums, Tea for the Tillerman, released in 1970, and Teaser and the Firecat, appeared one year later, he became a superstar. In 1977, Stevens converted to the Muslim faith, taking the name Yusuf Islam. Following his conversion, he abandoned his musical career for nearly three decades. In 2006, he returned to music, releasing his first new studio album in 28 years, titled An Other Cup.
