Linkin Park

Linkin Park were formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, California, originally under the name Xero.

The band’s core lineup eventually solidified around Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Joe Hahn, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and later Chester Bennington, whose arrival as lead vocalist proved to be a defining moment in their evolution.

From the outset, Linkin Park distinguished themselves by blending genres that were rarely combined so seamlessly: alternative rock, nu metal, hip-hop, electronic music, and introspective songwriting.

Their breakthrough came in 2000 with the release of their debut album Hybrid Theory. The album was an unprecedented success, driven by singles such as In the End, Crawling, and One Step Closer.

Songs such as What I’ve Done and Shadow of the Day revealed a band willing to mature lyrically and musically, addressing themes of politics, war, and personal responsibility. While initially divisive among fans, the album was ultimately praised for its ambition and growth.

That spirit of experimentation continued with A Thousand Suns (2010), a concept-driven album influenced by electronic music and atmospheric sound design. Tracks like Waiting for the End and The Catalyst reflected a cinematic approach that challenged traditional song structures.

The band revisited a heavier guitar-driven sound with Living Things (2012) while maintaining electronic elements, striking a balance between accessibility and experimentation. Songs such as Burn It Down became staples of their live performances.

In 2014, The Hunting Party marked a deliberate return to aggressive rock, inspired by the band’s desire to react against what they perceived as a lack of edge in contemporary rock music.

Collaborations with artists from the metal and punk scenes underscored their respect for rock’s roots while reaffirming their modern identity.

Their final studio album, One More Light, released in 2017, revealed a deeply personal and emotionally vulnerable side of the band.

The title track, One More Light, would later take on profound significance, becoming a symbol of loss, compassion, and remembrance for fans worldwide.

Over the course of their career, Linkin Park have sold over 100 million records globally, making them one of the best-selling bands of the 21st century.

They have received numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, multiple MTV Europe Music Awards, American Music Awards, and global honors recognizing both their commercial success and cultural impact.

Beyond numbers and accolades, Linkin Park’s influence is evident in how they reshaped modern rock, opening doors for genre hybridity and emotional openness in mainstream music.

The Venue – Visarno Arena

Visarno Arena is an open-air concert venue located within the Visarno Hippodrome, itself situated inside Parco delle Cascine, Florence’s largest public park.

Surrounded by greenery and open landscapes, the arena offers a unique setting that combines the scale required for major international concerts with the relaxed atmosphere of a natural environment.

Geographically, the arena is located approximately 2.5 kilometers from Santa Maria Novella railway station, Florence’s main train hub. Its proximity to the city center makes it easily accessible while still offering the space necessary for large audiences.

Public transportation provides efficient access to the venue. Bus Line 55 stops at Shelley, about 150 meters from the arena, offering one of the most direct routes. Bus Line 17 stops at Cascine 02, approximately 300 meters away, while Tram Lines T1.3 and T2 stop at Cascine, around 600 meters from the venue.
