The Venue – Arena del Visarno

The Arena del Visarno is an outdoor concert venue located at the Ippodromo del Visarno (Visarno Hippodrome), within Parco delle Cascine in Florence.

The Visarno Arena serves as the central stage for Firenze Rocks, transforming the green space of the park into a vast musical hub during the festival days.

Parco delle Cascine is situated just west of Florence’s historic center and stretches along the Arno River, offering a scenic and spacious setting for large-scale music events.

Santa Maria Novella (SMN) is Florence’s main railway station, serving high-speed and regional trains from throughout Italy and Europe. From the station, the Visarno Arena is approximately 2-2.5 kilometers away, a distance that can be navigated by several transportation options.

    • Public buses: ATAF city buses connect SMN station to stops near Parco delle Cascine and the Visarno Arena, making it a convenient choice for festival-goers who prefer not to walk.
    • Tram: Florence’s tram service also stops close to the park, with routes such as the Tramvia line providing easy access – for example, via stops like Cascine, which is within walking distance of the venue.
    • Taxi or rideshare: These are available outside SMN and can provide a quicker, more direct route for those with luggage or arriving from other cities.

Walking from SMN station to Visarno Arena takes about 20-30 minutes for those who enjoy scenic city strolls, passing through neighborhoods and along tree-lined streets toward the Cascine parklands.
