Skunk Anansie – Summer Tour 2022

The British rock band Skunk Anansie will perform on Saturday, May 14, 2022, starting with 8:00 pm, at the Alcatraz Club, in Milan.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the concert, initially planned for November 15, 2020, and then to May 15, 2021, and to March 15, 2022, was postponed to May 14, 2022. Tickets already purchased remain valid for the new date.

Besides the concert in Milan, Skunk Anansie will also appear on stage in Rome, on June 29, 2022, in Padua, on June 30, 2022, and in Collegno, near Turin, on July 1, 2022.

THE BAND

The current lineup of Skunk Anansie is composed of Skin (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Cass Lewis (bass, guitar, backing vocals), Martin Ace Kent (guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Richardson (drums and percussion).

Deborah Anne Dyer, known by the stage name Skin, is the lead vocalist of Skunk Anansie, and is well known for her powerful, wide-ranging soprano voice and trademark bald look.

The band was formed in 1994, disbanded in 2001, and reformed in 2009. The name of the band is taken from West African folk tales of Anansi, the spider-man of Ghana, with Skunk added just to make the name nastier.

Skunk Anansie released six studio albums: Paranoid & Sunburnt in 1995, Stoosh in 1996, Post Orgasmic Chill in 1999, Wonderlustre in 2010, Black Traffic in 2012, and Anarchytecture in 2016.

Their discography also contains one compilation album, Smashes and Trashes, released in 2009, and several hit singles, including Charity, Hedonism, Selling Jesus and Weak. To date, the band sold more than 4 million albums worldwide.

THE VENUE

Alcatraz, one of the most famous clubs in Milan, is housed in a structure built in 1946. The space was completely modernized between 1997 and 1998, and became a venue for events, exhibitions and musical performances.

The closest bus and tram stop is in Via Bernina, about 190 meters away, on the bus Lines 91 and 92, and the tram Lines 2 and 12. The closest Metro station is Maciachini, located about 400 meters away, on the Metro Line 3.
