The German band Kraftwerk will perform on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the Mediolanum Forum, in Assago, part of the Metropolitan City of Milan.
THE BAND
The band was formed by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider in 1970. Considered as pioneers of electronic music, Kraftwerk was among the first successful acts to popularize the genre.
During the 1970s, the band released commercially successful albums like Autobahn in 1974, Trans-Europe Express in 1977 and The Man-Machine in 1978.
Following the release of Electric Café in 1986, member Wolfgang Flür left the group, and the band’s other longtime percussionist, Karl Bartos, did the same in 1990. Founding member Florian Schneider departed in 2008.
In 2014, the band was rewarded with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their latest album, 3-D The Catalogue, was released in 2017, and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2018.
