The German band Kraftwerk will perform on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at the Gran Teatro Geox, in Padua.
The band was formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Considered pioneers of electronic music, Kraftwerk was among the first successful acts to popularize the genre.
During the 1970s, the band released some commercially successful albums like Autobahn in 1974, Trans-Europe Express in 1977 and The Man-Machine in 1978.
Following the release of Electric Café in 1986, member Wolfgang Flür left the group, and the band’s other longtime percussionist, Karl Bartos, did the same in 1990. Founding member Florian Schneider departed in 2008.
In 2014, the band was rewarded with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their latest album, 3-D The Catalogue, was released in 2017, and won the Grammy Award for the Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2018.
Gran Teatro Geox is a covered space in Padua, inaugurated on November 7, 2009, dedicated to live shows, located near the Arena Live Ex Foro Boario.
Although there are some bus stops nearby, in Via Montà, on the bus Line U11, the easiest way to reach the venue is by taxi.
