    Simple Minds will perform on Thursday, July 24, 2025, starting with 9.30 pm, in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, for the Lucca Summer Festival 2025.

    Besides the concert in Lucca, Simple Minds will also appear on stage in Verona, on July 15, 2025, and in Taormina, on July 27, 2025. The concerts are part of their Summer Live Tour 2025.

    Simple Minds was born in 1977, in Glasgow.

    The current lineup of the band consists of the two remaining original members – Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, and the more recent members – Ged Grimes, Cherisse Osei, Sarah Brown and Gordy Goudie.

    Simple Minds became best known internationally for their hit Don’t You (Forget About Me), released in 1985. Their other prominent hit singles include Alive and Kicking and Belfast Child.

    Their discography consists of 21 studio albums, 11 live albums, 10 compilation albums, 14 box sets, 68 singles, and 5 video albums.

    They were the most commercially successful Scottish band of the 1980s and, over the course of their career, they sold more than 60 million albums.

    LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL

    The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival was held in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker performed on stage.

    Over time, important artists attended the music festival, such as David Bowie, James Brown, Ray Charles, Elton John, Paul Simon, The Rolling Stones, Sting, and Scorpions.

    As usual, the Lucca Summer Festival 2025 will take place during the month of July, in Lucca.

    The concerts of the Lucca Summer Festival 2025 will be held in Piazza Napoleone, Piazza San Martino, Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, or in the former Campo Balilla, located outside the historic walls of Lucca.

     

    PIAZZA NAPOLEONE

    Piazza Napoleone is the main square of Lucca, and one of the venues where, every year in the summer, is held one of the most important music festivals in Italy, the Lucca Summer Festival.

    Piazza Napoleone is located inside the city walls of Lucca, about 650 meters away from the Lucca railway station.

    The closest bus stop is Napoleone, located in the northwestern corner of the square, on the bus Lines 5, LAM Blu and LAM Verde.
