Pat Metheny – Side-Eye World Tour 2023

Pat Metheny will perform on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, starting with 9.30 pm, in Piazza del Castello, in Udine, as part of the Udin&Jazz Festival 2023.

Besides the concert in Udine, Pat Metheny will also appear on stage in Lucca, on July 17, for the Lucca Summer Festival 2023.

PAT METHENY

Patrick Bruce Metheny is an American jazz guitarist and composer. He is the leader of the Pat Metheny Group and is also involved in duets, solo works, and other side projects.

Pat Metheny’s style incorporates elements of progressive and contemporary jazz, latin jazz, and jazz fusion. He has three gold albums and 20 Grammy Awards.

As a solo artist, his discography consists of 11 studio albums, 4 live albums, 3 soundtracks and 4 compilation albums. With the Pat Metheny Group, he released 12 albums.

UDIN&JAZZ FESTIVAL

Udin&Jazz is one of the most important jazz festivals in Europe. The festival is organized by Euritmica, a non-profit cultural association born in Udine in 1997 from the enthusiasm of a group of jazz lovers.

During over 30 years of history, the Udin&Jazz Festival hosted artists such as Max Roach, Stan Getz, Jim Hall, James Brown, Cassandra Wilson, Michael Brecker, Joe Zawinul, B.B. King, Charles Lloyd, Archie Shepp, Dionne Warwick, Paul Simon, Chris Cornell, and Mario Biondi.

THE VENUE

The main venue of the Udin&Jazz Festival 2023 is Piazzale del Castello. Located near the historical Castle of Udine, Piazzale del Castello draws large crowds for the live concerts and performances hosted here in the summer.

The Castle of Udine is located on top of a hill in the historical center of the city. The castle is home to the civic museums of Udine, such as the Archaeological and Numismatic Museum, the Risorgimento Museum, the Drawings and Prints Gallery, and the Friulian Museum of Photography.

Piazzale del Castello is located about 1.3 kilometers away from the Udine railway station. The closest bus stop is Castello di Udine, located near the square, on the bus Line M.
