The American rock band Weezer will perform on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Bologna Sonic Park Festival, in Bologna.
THE BAND
Weezer was formed in 1992, in Los Angeles. The band consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar and keyboards), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, keyboards) and Scott Shriner (bass).
In 1994, Weezer released their debut self-titled album, also known as the Blue Album. Their second album, Pinkerton, released in 1996, was a commercial failure, but achieved cult status and critical acclaim later.
In 2001, Weezer returned with another self-titled album, also known as the Green Album. Their fourth album, Maladroit was released in 2002, and their fifth album, Make Believe, in 2005.
In 2008, Weezer released a third self-titled album, also known as the Red Album. Raditude was released in 2009 and Hurley in 2010. The band’s ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End appeared in 2014 and the band’s fourth self-titled album, also known as the White Album, in 2016. Their eleventh album, Pacific Daydream, was released in 2017.
The band released a fifth self-titled album on January, 2019, which features only cover songs. Their sixth self-titled album is scheduled for March, 2019.
THE FESTIVAL
Bologna Sonic Park 2019 is the first edition of a rock festival which will take place in Bologna, in the Parco Nord area. Besides Weezer, the lineup of the festival includes names like Slipknot, Amon Amarth, Testament, Skunk Anansie, Greta Van Fleet and Bring Me the Horizon.
THE VENUE
Arena Parco Nord is a natural amphitheatre located in Bologna, used primarily for open-air concerts. The closest bus station is Parco Nord, located about 80 meters away, on the bus Lines 25, 410 and 925.
