On Sunday, 14 June 2026, at 21:30 (9:30 PM), legendary English rock band The Cure will headline the final night of Firenze Rocks 2026, performing at the Visarno Arena in Florence.

The band’s appearance marks a highly anticipated return to the Tuscan festival, closing out a major edition of one of Europe’s landmark rock festivals.

The Cure

The Cure are an influential English rock band formed in 1976 in Crawley, West Sussex, England, by vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith and drummer Lol Tolhurst.

Over nearly five decades, the band has become one of the most enduring and innovative acts in alternative music, blending post-punk, gothic rock, new wave, and indie elements into a sound that has resonated across generations.

The band began under the names Malice and Easy Cure before becoming The Cure in 1978. Early in their career, they gained attention with a dark, atmospheric style that gradually expanded to incorporate pop sensibilities alongside their signature melancholic tone.

Fronted throughout its history by Robert Smith, the group’s lineup has seen long-time members such as Simon Gallup (bass), Roger O’Donnell (keyboards), Perry Bamonte (guitar and keyboards), Jason Cooper (drums), and Reeves Gabrels (guitar) contributing to its sound.

Firenze Rocks 2026

Firenze Rocks is one of Italy’s premier music festivals and a major event on the European live music calendar.

Since its debut in 2017, the festival has been held annually at the Visarno Arena, located in Parco delle Cascine, Florence’s largest public park.

Organized by Live Nation, the festival brings international rock, alternative, and pop artists together for multiple nights of live performance each June.

Over the years, Firenze Rocks has welcomed legendary and contemporary artists, solidifying its reputation as a leading destination for rock fans. Iconic names such as Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Muse and Green Day have graced its stages.

The festival’s evolution reflects its ambition: from its early editions showcasing a mix of classic and alternative rock acts, to recent lineups that span genres and eras.

The 2026 edition of Firenze Rocks returns to the Visarno Arena from 12 to 14 June 2026, featuring a lineup of major international headliners. The festival has announced three headline acts across its three nights:

• Friday, 12 June 2026 – Lenny Kravitz kicks off the festival with his dynamic performance.
• Saturday, 13 June 2026 – Robbie Williams headlines the second night.
• Sunday, 14 June 2026 – The Cure closes out the festival’s main program.

 
Sunday’s bill also includes supporting artists such as Mogwai, The Twilight Sad, and Just Mustard, reflecting the festival’s multi-genre programming on its final day.

The Venue – Arena del Visarno

The Arena del Visarno is an outdoor concert venue nestled within the Visarno Hippodrome (Ippodromo del Visarno), located in Parco delle Cascine, west of Florence’s historic centre.

This expansive open-air space is specifically designed to host large music events and festivals, making it a natural choice for Firenze Rocks.

Santa Maria Novella (SMN) is Florence’s main railway station – a major transportation hub for regional and high-speed trains across Italy and Europe. The Visarno Arena is located approximately 2-2.5 kilometres from SMN, making it reachable by several transport options:

• Public buses connect Santa Maria Novella with stops near the Cascine park and Visarno Arena.
• Tram lines (e.g., Tramvia Line 1 and Line 2) provide direct routes toward the park area, with stops such as Cascine (Carlo Monni) and San Donato (Università) within walking distance of the venue.
• Taxis and rideshare services are available outside the station for direct transport to festival entrances.

 
Alternatively, the venue may be reached on foot in about 20-30 minutes along scenic city streets and pathways, offering arriving visitors a pleasant introduction to Florence on their way to the concert.
