    Loreen – Concert in Milan

Loreen, born Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui, is a Swedish singer-songwriter whose powerful voice, emotive performances, and innovative artistry have made her an icon in modern pop music.

Known globally for her groundbreaking Eurovision victories, Loreen’s influence extends far beyond the contest, establishing her as a trailblazing figure in the music industry.

Loreen was born on October 16, 1983, in Stockholm, Sweden, to Moroccan-Berber parents. Raised in Västerås, she grew up in a multicultural household that shaped her artistic identity.

From a young age, Loreen showed a keen interest in music and performance, often citing influences ranging from Whitney Houston to Björk.

Her first taste of the spotlight came in 2004 when she competed in the first season of Idol, Sweden’s version of the talent show franchise. Although she didn’t win, the experience laid the foundation for her career.

Over the next few years, Loreen worked behind the scenes in television production while honing her musical skills, waiting for the perfect moment to re-emerge as an artist.

Loreen’s career skyrocketed in 2012 when she won Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision, with her now-iconic song Euphoria.

At the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan, she delivered a breathtaking performance, combining ethereal vocals, atmospheric staging, and contemporary dance.

The song’s infectious melody and innovative presentation captivated audiences, earning her a landslide victory.

Euphoria became a global phenomenon, topping charts across Europe and achieving multi-platinum status.

Its success catapulted Loreen to international stardom, with critics lauding her ability to merge mainstream appeal with artistic depth.

In 2023, Loreen made history by winning Eurovision for a second time with her song Tattoo.

Held in Liverpool, the performance showcased her signature mix of theatricality and emotion, solidifying her as the first woman to win the contest twice.

The victory not only reaffirmed her status as a Eurovision legend but also demonstrated her enduring relevance in the ever-changing music landscape.

Loreen’s music is characterized by its fusion of electronic, pop, and atmospheric elements, often layered with themes of love, freedom, and self-expression.

Her debut album, Heal (2012), featured hits like Euphoria and My Heart is Refusing Me, highlighting her ability to craft songs that are both anthemic and introspective.

In 2017, she released her sophomore album, Ride, a departure from her Eurovision style that explored darker, more experimental sounds.

The album showcased her versatility as an artist and her willingness to take creative risks.
