The Lumineers will perform on Saturday, June 24, 2023, starting with 9.30 pm, in Piazza Trento e Trieste, the main square of Ferrara, as part of the Ferrara Summer Festival 2023.
THE LUMINEERS
The Lumineers were formed in Denver, Colorado, in 2005. The band consists of Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano).
Among others, the band was influenced by Bob Dylan, Beethoven, Guns N’ Roses, Talking Heads, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, The Cars, and Leonard Cohen.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 2012 and peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The singles Ho Hey, Stubborn Love and Submarines were released from the album.
The Lumineers was certified triple platinum in the US and Canada, platinum in the UK and Ireland, and gold in Australia.
Their second album, Cleopatra, was released in 2016 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and also on the Canadian and British album charts. The album is currently certified platinum in the US.
Their third album, III, was released on September 13, 2019, and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Their fourth album, Brightside, was released on January 14, 2022.
Besides these 4 studio albums, The Lumineers released seven extended plays, 19 singles, five promotional singles and 19 music videos.
THE VENUE
Piazza Trento e Trieste, formerly known as Piazza delle Erbe for the market held there in the past, is the main square of Ferrara.
Around the square, you can still admire various ancient buildings, some of them in their original appearance, while others have undergone various renovations and transformations over time.
Piazza Trento e Trieste is located about 1.6 kilometers away from the Ferrara railway station. The closest bus stop is in Corso Porta Reno, on the southwestern corner of the square, on the bus Lines 4 and 11.
