About
Knotfest Italy 2023 will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the Arena Parco Nord, in Bologna.
After the United States, Japan, Mexico, Colombia, France, Germany, Finland, Chile, Brazil and Australia, the iconic metal festival created by Slipknot in 2012 comes for the first time to Italy.
SHORT HISTORY OF THE KNOTFEST
Knotfest is a music festival created in 2012 by the American heavy metal band Slipknot.
The inaugural edition of the festival took place in two cities – on August 17, 2012, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and on August 18, 2012, in Somerset, Wisconsin. The line-up featured bands such as Deftones, Lamb of God, and Cannibal Corpse.
Over time, the event was held both as a touring festival and a destination festival in several countries, such as the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Finland, Chile, Brazil and France.
Besides Slipknot, Knotfest featured performers such as Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, Korn, Papa Roach, Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Bring Me the Horizon, Prong, Deadly Apples, In This Moment, Amen, Butcher Babies, In Flames, Five Finger Death Punch, Sepultura, Judas Priest, Megadeth, HIM, Cradle of Filth, Opeth and Prayers.
The festival was conceived to offer a dark carnival experience, with circus big-top tents, pillars of fire, amusement park rides, burlesque performers, firebreathers, stilt walkers, drum circles made of junkyard cars and graffiti walls. The event also features a Slipknot museum.
