Iron Maiden – Legacy of the Beast Tour 2022

The English band Iron Maiden will perform on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Palanord, in Bologna, as part of the Bologna Sonic Park 2022.

THE BAND

Iron Maiden was formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975, by bassist and songwriter Steve Harris. The current members of the band include Steve Harris (bass, backing vocals, keyboards), Dave Murray (guitars), Adrian Smith (guitars, backing vocals, keyboards), Bruce Dickinson (lead vocals, piano), Nicko McBrain (drums), and Janick Gers (guitars).

The band achieved initial success during the early 1980s. After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of UK and US platinum and gold albums, such as 1980’s eponymous debut, Killers (1981), The Number of the Beast (1982), Piece of Mind (1983), Powerslave (1984), Live After Death (1985), Somewhere in Time (1986), Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988), No Prayer for the Dying (1990), and Fear of the Dark (1992).

Since the return of lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith in 1999, with a series of new albums and highly successful tours, the band became popular again.

To date, the band’s discography includes 39 albums – 16 studio albums, 12 live albums, four EPs and seven compilations. The band also released 47 singles and 20 video albums. Over time, Iron Maiden sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide.

THE FESTIVAL

Bologna Sonic Park is a rock music festival which took place for the first time in 2019. The lineup for the first edition of the festival included names like Slipknot, Amon Amarth, Testament, Skunk Anansie, Weezer, Greta Van Fleet and Bring Me the Horizon.

THE VENUE

Palanord is an event space and concert hall in Bologna, located in the Parco Nord area. The hall is close to the natural amphitheater Arena Parco Nord, another venue of the Bologna Sonic Park 2022.

The closest bus station is Parco Nord, located about 600 meters away, on the bus Lines 25, 410 and 925.
