Simple Minds – 40 Years of Hits Tour 2022

The Scottish band Simple Minds will perform in Verona, on Monday, July 18, 2022, starting with 9.00 pm, at the Arena di Verona, as part of their 40 Years of Hits Tour 2022.

The concert, initially planned for August 4, 2020, was first postponed to August 9, 2021, and then to July 18, 2022. Tickets already purchased remain valid for the new date.

Besides the concert in Verona, Simple Minds will also appear on stage in Taormina, on July 12, 2022, in Pescara, on July 14, 2022, in Pistoia, on July 15, 2022, and in Rome, on July 17, at the Roma Summer Fest 2022.

THE BAND

Simple Minds was formed in 1977, in Glasgow. The current lineup of the band consists of the two remaining original members – Jim Kerr (vocals) and Charlie Burchill (electric & acoustic guitars, saxophone and violin), and the more recent members – Ged Grimes (bass guitar), Cherisse Osei (drums), Sarah Brown (backing vocals) and Gordy Goudie (additional guitar & keyboards).

Simple Minds are best known internationally for their hit Don’t You (Forget About Me), released in 1985. Their other prominent hit singles include Alive and Kicking and Belfast Child.

They were the most commercially successful Scottish band of the 1980s and, over the course of their career, they sold more than 60 million albums.

THE VENUE

Arena di Verona is a Roman amphitheater located in the historical center of Verona, in Piazza Bra. The Arena is one of the best preserved amphitheaters in the world, the eighth Roman amphitheater in the world by size and the fourth among those located in Italy.

Arena di Verona is located in Piazza Bra, about 1.5 kilometers from the Verona Porta Nuova railway station. The closest bus stop is near the Arena, on the bus Lines 11, 12, 13, 51, 52, 78, 90, 92, 94, 96, 97, 98, 102, 161, 162, 163, 164 and 165.
