David Byrne

David Byrne is a Scottish-born musician, producer, artist, and writer whose work has influenced multiple generations of rock, pop, and experimental music.

Born in Dumbarton, Scotland, in 1952, Byrne moved with his family to North America as a child, ultimately co-founding the seminal band Talking Heads in 1975 while studying at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Talking Heads quickly became one of the most innovative rock groups of the late 20th century.

Their blend of punk, new wave, art rock, and world music helped reshape the sonic landscape of the late 1970s and early 1980s, producing influential records like Talking Heads: 77, Fear of Music, and Remain in Light – albums that combined rhythmic complexity, avant-garde production, and Byrne’s distinctive vocal style.

As the band’s principal singer, guitarist, and creative driver, Byrne played a central role in this transformation.

After Talking Heads disbanded in 1991, Byrne embarked on a prolific solo career that broadened his artistic scope beyond standard rock performance.

Venue – Piazza Napoleone
