The Ancient Theater of Taormina is an ancient Greek theater built around the third century BC. With a diameter of 120 metres, the theater is the second largest of its kind in Sicily, after that of Syracuse, and it is frequently used for theatrical performances and concerts.
The theater is located about 450 meters away from the Porta Messina, the main entrance to the town, where you can also find a bus station to the Taormina-Giardini train station. The railway station is about 3.2 kilometers away, or about 50 minutes on foot.
