Skunk Anansie will perform on Saturday, June 10, 2023, starting with 8:00 pm, in Piazza Malatesta, in Rimini.

Besides the concert in Rimini, Skunk Anansie will also appear on stage in Cagliari, on June 9, 2023, in Valmontone, near Rome, on July 6, 2023, and in Tarvisio, on July 22, 2023.

The current lineup of Skunk Anansie is composed of Skin (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Cass Lewis (bass, guitar, backing vocals), Martin Ace Kent (guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Richardson (drums and percussion).

Deborah Anne Dyer, known by the stage name Skin, is the lead vocalist of Skunk Anansie, and is well known for her powerful, wide-ranging soprano voice and trademark bald look.

The band was formed in 1994, disbanded in 2001, and reformed in 2009. The name of the band is taken from West African folk tales of Anansi, the spider-man of Ghana, with Skunk added just to make the name nastier.

Skunk Anansie released six studio albums: Paranoid & Sunburnt in 1995, Stoosh in 1996, Post Orgasmic Chill in 1999, Wonderlustre in 2010, Black Traffic in 2012, and Anarchytecture in 2016.

Their discography also contains one compilation album, Smashes and Trashes, released in 2009, and several hit singles, including Charity, Hedonism, Selling Jesus and Weak.

They also released two live albums, and 28 music videos. To date, the band sold more than 4 million albums worldwide.

THE VENUE

Piazza Malatesta is one of the main squares of Rimini, located in the western part of the historical center of the city.

In the square, there is the beautiful Castel Sismondo, built at the behest of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, Lord of Rimini, starting with 1437.

Piazza Malatesta is located about 1 kilometer away from the Rimini railway station. The closest bus stop is Campana-Valturio, located about 100 meters away, on the bus Lines 1, 14 and 29.
