On Saturday, 12 October 2024, from 6.30 p.m., at the Cultural hypogeum Lega Navale Italiana Sezione di Matera-Magna Grecia, in Via Fiorentini 103-107, in the Sassi of Matera, take place the opening of Stories of Identity – From hidden places to daily life, an international art exhibition, is scheduled.
It will be possible to visit the exhibition from 12 to 31 October 2024, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free admission.
The exhibition is curated by art historian Dr. Carmela Loiacono and promoted by Lega Navale Italiana Sezione di Matera-Magna Grecia and MaterAcqua, with the patronage of the Municipality of Matera, the Province of Matera and Ambiente Basilicata.
Presentation of the exhibition:
“Every work of art tells a story made up of emotions, memories and experiences that are part of the experience of each artist.”
The exhibition STORIES OF IDENTITY aims to observe, analyse and share the stories behind the works of art, with the aim of becoming a visual tale, a continuous narration through images in a constant dialogue with the visitor.
Artists are invited to share any kind of story and personal experience, starting from the most hidden places of their soul and touching on everyday life. All the selected works are stories of identity, capable of facing and dealing with the changes of the contemporary world, letting themselves be contaminated by it and preserving their uniqueness.
