Muse will perform two concerts in Milan on Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Unipol Dome. Both shows are scheduled to begin at 8:30 pm and form part of The Wow! Signal Europa Tour, the European arena tour supporting the band’s tenth studio album.

The Milan concerts will take place shortly after the European tour opens in Manchester and continues through London and Berlin. After the two Italian performances, the itinerary proceeds to Düsseldorf, Paris, Amsterdam, Montpellier, and Zurich, placing Milan among the principal destinations included in the November and December arena schedule.

The shows will combine songs from The Wow! Signal with established material from a career extending across more than three decades. Muse catalogue covers alternative rock, progressive rock, electronic rock, hard rock, space rock, orchestral arrangements, synthesizer-based production, and compositions influenced by classical music.

About Muse

Muse is an English rock band formed in Teignmouth, Devon, in 1994. Its permanent lineup consists of Matt Bellamy on lead vocals, guitar, piano, and keyboards, Chris Wolstenholme on bass and backing vocals, and Dominic Howard on drums and percussion.

The three musicians met while attending Teignmouth Community College and initially played in different local groups. Bellamy auditioned for Howard’s band, Carnage Mayhem, which was subsequently renamed Gothic Plague. Wolstenholme, originally a drummer in another group, agreed to join them as bassist and learned the instrument for the new lineup.

The musicians later performed under the name Rocket Baby Dolls and developed a deliberately theatrical image. In 1994, they entered and unexpectedly won a local battle-of-the-bands competition. The result encouraged them to treat the project seriously, leave their other jobs, and continue together under the shorter name Muse.

Early recordings emphasized Bellamy’s falsetto, distorted guitar work, piano, and emotionally intense songwriting. The group subsequently expanded its sound through synthesizers, classical structures, electronic production, orchestral passages, and heavier guitar arrangements, while retaining the same three permanent members throughout its recording career.

Muse developed a particular reputation for technically complex concerts and large visual productions. Its shows have incorporated extensive lighting systems, video installations, moving platforms, lasers, large-scale props, narrative interludes, and stage designs adapted to arenas and stadiums without replacing the central live performance by the three musicians.

The band’s musical themes frequently address technological control, authoritarian governments, social conflict, surveillance, environmental destruction, artificial intelligence, personal isolation, and space exploration. Other recordings concentrate on relationships, separation, resilience, fear, and emotional dependence, often placing intimate subjects inside large cinematic arrangements.

Ten years before the 2026 Milan dates, the Drones World Tour brought Muse to the indoor arena in Assago for six performances. The November concerts therefore represent its return to indoor arena shows in the Milan area with a new album and a production specifically developed for the European tour.

Muse Discography

The Muse discography includes ten studio albums, two live albums, a compilation album, several extended plays, more than forty singles, and numerous music videos. Its studio catalogue traces a development from guitar-based alternative rock toward progressive, orchestral, electronic, industrial, synth-rock, and science-fiction-inspired productions.

The debut album, Showbiz, was released in 1999 and included Sunburn, Muscle Museum, Cave, and Unintended. It reached number 29 on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified platinum in the United Kingdom, while also establishing the band in several continental European markets.

Origin of Symmetry followed in 2001 and reached number three in the United Kingdom. The album included New Born, Bliss, Plug In Baby, Hyper Music, and a recording of Feeling Good. Its heavier arrangements, organ passages, synthesizers, and wider vocal range marked a substantial musical expansion.

Released in 2003, Absolution became the group’s first number-one album in the United Kingdom. Its track list included Stockholm Syndrome, Time Is Running Out, Hysteria, Sing for Absolution, and Butterflies and Hurricanes, combining apocalyptic themes with piano, orchestration, electronic elements, and distorted guitars.

The fourth album, Black Holes and Revelations, arrived in 2006. It contained Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Map of the Problematique, and Knights of Cydonia. The record reached number one in several countries and entered the top ten of the United States Billboard 200.

The Resistance was released in 2009 and incorporated the singles Uprising, Undisclosed Desires, and Resistance. Its final section, Exogenesis: Symphony, is a three-part composition using orchestral and progressive structures. The album became the group’s first release to win a Grammy Award.

Muse released The 2nd Law in 2012. The album included Madness, Panic Station, Supremacy, and Survival, which served as an official song connected with the London 2012 Olympic Games. The production combined rock with electronic music, orchestral passages, funk, and dubstep-influenced elements.

The concept album Drones followed in 2015 and returned to a predominantly guitar-driven sound. Songs such as Psycho, Dead Inside, Mercy, Reapers, and The Handler support a narrative concerning indoctrination, dehumanized warfare, political power, and an individual attempting to escape external control.

Simulation Theory, released in 2018, adopted a visual and musical identity influenced by 1980s science fiction and popular culture. Its recordings included Dig Down, Thought Contagion, Something Human, Pressure, and Algorithm, combining synthesizers, electronic drums, rock instrumentation, and retro-futuristic imagery.

The ninth album, Will of the People, appeared in 2022. It included Won’t Stand Down, Compliance, Kill or Be Killed, You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween, and the title track. The release became the band’s seventh consecutive studio album to reach number one in the United Kingdom.

Muse released its tenth studio album, The Wow! Signal, on June 26, 2026. The record includes Unravelling, Be with You, Cryogen, Hexagons, Nightshift Superstar, and Hush, a collaboration with Ellie Goulding. Its title refers to the unexplained radio signal detected in 1977.

Muse Awards and Sales

Muse had sold more than 30 million albums worldwide by 2022, reflecting sustained commercial performance across Europe, North America, and other international markets. Several releases achieved platinum or multi-platinum certifications, while the band maintained a continuous presence in major album charts for more than two decades.

Muse has won two Grammy Awards, both in the Best Rock Album category. The Resistance received the award in 2011, while Drones won in 2016. The 2nd Law was also nominated for Best Rock Album, and Madness received a nomination for Best Rock Song.

Muse received two Brit Awards for Best British Live Act, winning the category in 2005 and 2007. These awards reflected the band’s established live reputation during the period surrounding Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations, when its performances moved increasingly into major arenas and stadiums.

Its awards record also includes five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. NME recognized the group in categories including Best New Band, Best British Band, and Best Live Band, while the MTV awards acknowledged both its alternative-rock identity and broader European popularity.

In 2012, the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors presented the band with an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement. A compiled record of its major industry honors lists approximately 70 wins from 176 nominations across music, video, touring, and specialist rock awards.

Commercial milestones include seven consecutive UK number-one studio albums between Absolution and Will of the People. Drones became the group’s first album to reach number one on the United States Billboard 200, while Supermassive Black Hole remains its highest-charting single in the United Kingdom.

Venue – Unipol Dome

Unipol Dome is a multipurpose indoor arena in the Milano Santa Giulia district. The venue can accommodate up to 16,000 visitors, using a configuration of approximately 12,000 seats and 4,000 standing places for concerts. Its interior arrangement can be modified according to the requirements of individual events.

The arena originated as a central component of Milan’s preparations for the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Construction began in 2023, although planning for the building had started earlier as part of the broader redevelopment of the Santa Giulia area in southeastern Milan.

Unipol Dome was designed through a collaboration between David Chipperfield Architects and the engineering and design company Arup. Its elliptical shape reinterprets the form of a classical amphitheatre, while its exterior is composed of three stacked aluminium rings separated by transparent glass bands.

The exterior media façade contains more than 2.4 million LEDs across an area exceeding 7,000 square meters. This system enables the building to display large-scale visual content and lighting sequences, transforming the façade into an active part of the presentation during concerts and other major events.

Inside, the arena contains two covered seating tiers above the parterre level, together with lounges, restaurants, hospitality spaces, and skyboxes. Its bowl was digitally modelled to optimize audience sightlines, circulation routes, crowd movement, acoustics, and the installation requirements of international touring productions.

A raised podium surrounds the arena and connects it with a public piazza measuring more than 10,000 square meters. The external space can support audience circulation and outdoor event formats, while wide stairways connect the plaza with the principal entrances and public areas of the building.

How to Get to the Unipol Dome

The principal public-transport route uses Metro Line M3, the yellow line, to Milano Rogoredo. During major events, a dedicated shuttle service operates between the station and Unipol Dome. The official arena access plan also provides extended M3 operating hours until approximately 1:00 am on event nights.

Passengers arriving at Milano Centrale can take M3 directly toward San Donato and leave the train at Rogoredo FS. This route does not require a metro transfer. Visitors arriving by regional, suburban, national, or high-speed train can also use the railway platforms at Milano Rogoredo.

The arena can be reached on foot from Milano Rogoredo in approximately 25 minutes. The walking route may be practical before the concert, although the dedicated event shuttle generally provides a more direct option for visitors unfamiliar with the Santa Giulia district.

Tram Line 27 serves the Viale Ungheria area, approximately five minutes on foot from the arena. The tram connects with Metro Line M4 at Repetti, allowing passengers travelling from Linate Airport or locations along the blue metro line to continue toward Unipol Dome.

Bus routes serving the surrounding area include lines 45, 66, 77, 88, and 95. Bus 88 provides a connection from Rogoredo FS, while stops near Via Manzù–Via Cascella and Viale Ungheria are located within walking distance of the venue.

Visitors travelling by car should use the designated access routes for Milano Santa Giulia and reserve parking in advance when required. Event-specific traffic restrictions, shuttle schedules, metro extensions, and pedestrian routes should be checked before departure because arrangements may be adapted for large concerts.
