Marcus Miller

Marcus Miller was born on June 14, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York, into a musical family environment that strongly influenced his artistic development.

He began playing clarinet at a young age before moving to bass guitar, an instrument with which he would later redefine the sound of modern jazz, funk, and fusion.

Over the course of his career, Miller has established himself as one of the most influential bassists of his generation.

Miller is renowned not only as a performer but also as a composer, arranger, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.

His distinctive style blends jazz improvisation with funk grooves, soul sensibility, and elements of R&B, creating a sound that is both technically sophisticated and immediately engaging.
