The origins of Kappa FuturFestival date back to December 2008, when FuturFestival was first conceived to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Futurism.

The inaugural event took place at the Oval Lingotto arena in Turin and attracted more than 7,000 attendees, marking the beginning of what would become a long-running cultural project.

In 2009, FuturFestival played a central role in the production of Turin’s official New Year’s Eve outdoor celebration, presenting internationally recognized artists such as Groove Armada and Juliette Lewis, further expanding its profile beyond the electronic music scene.

A major turning point came in June 2012, when the event evolved into Italy’s first large-scale daytime summer electronic music festival under the name Kappa FuturFestival, following a partnership with the well-known Italian sportswear brand Kappa.

By 2013, Kappa FuturFestival had firmly established itself as Italy’s most prominent urban electronic music festival and earned recognition among the Top 5 European Summer Festivals, reflecting its growing international appeal.

In 2017, the festival reached a new milestone, with 26% of attendees coming from abroad and a total of 45,000 participants representing 62 nationalities. This marked a significant step in the festival’s internationalization.

The upward trend continued in 2018, when the festival area expanded and a fourth stage was introduced. Attendance rose to 50,000 participants, with 35% international visitors from 87 countries, highlighting the event’s growing global reach.

The 2019 edition welcomed approximately 60,000 participants from 102 countries and received the DJ Awards recognition as Best International Festival, further solidifying its reputation on the world stage.

In 2022, the festival expanded its program to three full days, setting a new attendance record with 85,000 visitors from 105 countries.

That year’s headliners included Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, Ricardo Villalobos, and Satoshi Tomiie, reflecting the festival’s commitment to high-profile, genre-defining artists.

Parco Dora is a post-industrial urban park in Turin covering an area of approximately 456,000 square meters. It is located in the Spina 3 district, an area that once housed major Fiat and Michelin production facilities until the 1990s.

The park takes its name from the Dora Riparia river, which runs through the area. It is bordered by Via Nole, Via Valdellatorre, the Carlo Donat-Cattin Tunnel, Corso Mortara, Corso Principe Oddone, Via Daubrée, Corso Umbria, and Piazzale Piero della Francesca.

The closest public transport stop is Piero Della Francesca, located about 100 meters away in Piazzale Piero della Francesca, served by tram lines 3 and 9 and bus line 22.
