    The American guitarist Joe Satriani will perform on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at the Teatro Verdi, in Florence.   THE ARTIST Joseph Satriani was born in Long Island in 1956. He began playing the guitar at age 14, influenced by Jimi Hendrix. A few years later, he began taking jazz lessons. Joe Satriani is a 15-time Grammy Award nominee. To date, he sold over 10 million albums worldwide, making him the best-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. His Shapeshifting Tour 2020 will start in April, 2020. After the United Kingdom and Northern Europe, the artist will arrive in Italy for six unmissable concerts, in Bologna, Florence, Naples, Lecce, Rome and Milan.   THE VENUE Teatro Verdi is a theater in Florence, established in 1854. The venue has 806 seats, including 6 reserved for wheelchairs. The closest bus stop is Verdi, located in Via Giuseppe Verdi, about 65 meters away from the main entrance of the theater.     Firenze Rocks 2020

    Firenze Rocks 2020 will take place between 10 and 14 of June, at the Visarno Arena, in Parco delle Cascine, in Florence.   THE FESTIVAL The first edition of Firenze Rocks took place in 2017, when Placebo, Aerosmith and System of a Down attended the festival. In 2018, in front of over 210,000 spectators, The Kills, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne appeared on stage. In 2019, the most important artists who performed at the festival were Ed Sheeran, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Dream Theater and Eddie Vedder.     Lucca Summer Festival 2020, the 23rd edition of one of the most important music festivals in Italy, will take place during the month of July, in Lucca.   THE FESTIVAL The first edition of the Lucca Summer Festival took place in 1998, when Bob Dylan, George Benson and Joe Cocker performed on stage. Over time, important names attended the festival, among which we can mention David Bowie, James Brown, Mark Knopfler, Jamiroquai, Seal, Zucchero, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Anastacia, Giorgia, Green Day, Ennio Morricone and The Rolling Stones. On 5 July 2009, the Dave Matthews Band held a concert of over three and a half hours, the longest performance of their career. On 23 September 2017, it was held the historic Rolling Stones concert, the only Italian date of the No Filter European tour, which established the attendance record for this event, of about 55,000 people.     The American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform on Saturday, July 4, 2020, in Piazza Napoleone, in Lucca, as part of the Lucca Summer Festival 2020.   THE BAND Lynyrd Skynyrd was formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964. The group was originally named My Backyard and was composed of Ronnie Van Zant (lead vocalist), Gary Rossington (guitar), Allen Collins (guitar), Larry Junstrom (bass guitar) and Bob Burns (drums). The band changed its name to Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1969 and released their first album in 1973. Their second album, Second Helping, was released in 1974, and the band’s third album, Nuthin’ Fancy, in 1975. Their fourth studio album, Gimme Back My Bullets, was released in 1976, and their fifth, Street Survivors, in 1977. On October 20, 1977, Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines and singer Cassie Gaines were killed in an airplane crash, and the band abruptly ceased.
