The most important event in Noto is, without doubt, the Infiorata, a flower festival which takes place every third Sunday of May, starting with 1980. During the event, Via Nicolaci is covered with a carpet of flowers divided into panels with a different theme every year.

    Festa di San Corrado 2023 - 19 February 2023

    Festa di San Corrado 2023 will take place on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in the beautiful city of Noto. One of the most beautiful religious celebrations in Sicily, the Feast of Saint Conrad of Piacenza, patron saint of Noto, takes place twice a year, or if we count the octaves of the feast, four times a year. The feast held on February 19 recalls the death of Saint Conrad, while the one held in the last Sunday of August commemorates his beatification on August 28, 1515.   SHORT HISTORY Conrad of Piacenza, born Corrado Confalonieri, was an Italian hermit of the Third Order of Saint Francis, who lived between 1290 and 1351, and is now venerated as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. Around 1340, Conrad arrived in Noto and settled in a cave. He performed numerous miracles and when he died, on February 19, 1351, it is said that the bells of the town started ringing on their own.   CALENDAR OF EVENTS On February 19, the silver urn which contains the remains of the saint will be carried in procession through the streets of Noto, on the shoulders of the Bearers (Portatori).     Infiorata di Noto 2023

    Infiorata di Noto 2023, the 44th edition of the famous flower festival, will take place between Friday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in Via Corrado Nicolaci, in Noto. Infiorata di Noto is part of the Baroque Spring (Primavera Barocca), a series of events including concerts, craft exibitions and the Baroque Procession (Corteo Barocco), consisting of people in period costumes, flag-wavers and musicians, who parade through the streets of the historical center of the town.   SHORT HISTORY Infiorata di Noto was born 40 years ago from the meeting of the Noto floral artists with the ones from Genzano, part of the Metropolitan City of Rome, where this pictorial technique was developed. Beginning with 1980, every year, in the third weekend of May, Noto, the Stone Garden, as it was called by the historian Cesare Brandi, welcomes in the heart of its historical center an explosion of color and perfume.
