The American rock band Weezer will perform on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Visarno Arena, in the Cascine Park, in Florence.
Weezer was founded in 1992, in Los Angeles. The band consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar and keyboards), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, keyboards) and Scott Shriner (bass).
In 1994, Weezer released their self-titled debut album, also known as the Blue Album. Their second album, Pinkerton, released in 1996, was a commercial failure, but achieved cult status and critical acclaim later.
In 2001, Weezer returned with another self-titled album, also known as the Green Album. Their fourth album, Maladroit, was released in 2002, and their fifth album, Make Believe, in 2005.
In 2008, Weezer released a third self-titled album, also known as the Red Album. Raditude was released in 2009 and Hurley in 2010. The band’s ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, appeared in 2014 and their fourth self-titled album, also known as the White Album, in 2016. Their eleventh album, Pacific Daydream, was released in 2017.
The band released a fifth self-titled album in January 2019, known as the Teal Album, which features only cover songs. Their sixth self-titled album, the Black Album, was released in March 2019.
Firenze Rocks is a music festival which takes place every year since 2017, in Florence. The first edition of Firenze Rocks brought on stage names like Placebo, Aerosmith and System of a Down.
In 2018, The Kills, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne appeared on stage. In 2019, Ed Sheeran, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Dream Theater and Eddie Vedder performed at the festival.
Firenze Rocks 2020 will take place between 10 and 14 of June, at the Visarno Arena, in Florence. The first names announced for the 2020 edition are Green Day and Weezer, both performing in the first day of the festival, on Thursday, June 11.
Visarno Arena is an outdoor arena located in the Cascine Park, in Florence. Surrounded by nature, the area is a perfect summer venue for concerts, music festivals and other kind of events.
The arena can be reached by public transport from the center of Florence. The closest bus stop is Shelley, about 150 meters away, on the bus Line 55, but you can also use the bus 17, getting off at Cascine 02, a bus stop located about 300 meters away from the Visarno Arena.
