Milano Summer Festival is a music festival taking place every year, usually in June and July, in Milano. The festival brings to Milan some of the best-known artists of different music genres, spanning from rock to electronic dance music, jazz, blues, heavy metal and much more. Of the artists who performed in 2018, we can mention Marilyn Manson, Carlos Santana, Martin Garrix, Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains, The Chemical Brothers, Alanis Morissette and Robert Plant. MILANO SUMMER FESTIVAL 2019 will begin earlier than usual. The first name announced for the 2019 edition is Metallica, who will play on May 8, at the Ippodromo Snai – San Siro.
The American heavy metal band Metallica will perform on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in Milan, at the Ippodromo Snai – San Siro, as part of their WorldWired Tour 2019. Metallica was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, by the drummer Lars Ulrich and vocalist James Hetfield. The band’s current lineup comprises the founding members Hetfield and Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo. Till now, the band released ten studio albums, four live albums, a cover album, 37 singles and 39 music videos. Metallica won nine Grammy Awards from 23 nominations and sold over 125 million albums worldwide as of 2018. Their new WorldWired Tour will start on May 1, 2019, at the Restelo Stadium in Lisbon. The tour consists of 25 new shows in 20 countries, which will touch cities like Milan, Zurich, Dublin, Brussels, Berlin, Moscow, Warsaw, Bucharest, Gothenburg and, for the first time in their career, Trondheim (Norway), Hameenlinna (Finland) and Tartu (Estonia).
